good training

Not long returned from a really good training run of 32 miles. The first three miles or so was uphill, the next mile downhill then two flat miles. Then we had a slightly uphill mile followed by two to three flatish. Here I joined the Leeds Liverpool Canal at Dowley Gap (near Bingley) and ran 11.6 miles to Kirkstall. Then it's quite a big hill up to Headingley followed by a gradual climb through West Park to Adel. Then downhill for a mile or so followed by an mildly undulating couple of miles leading to the final 2.3 miles which are all downhill (except for the final 400m which is flat).

The first 8 miles were covered in 1h 09:49
the next 8 in 1h 07:55
the third 8 in 1h 06:06
and the final 8 in 1h 03:28

giving a total time of 4h 27:18

Very pleased with this average pace of well under 8:30 per mile. Also pleased with the new Saucony Grid Jazz shoes which I wore today thanks to Up & Running ... they performed exceptionally well.

Tired now ... need a rest ... no training at all tomorrow ... recovery ...
