media stuff

This morning David Hirst called around from Yorkshire TV to do a bit of filming, etc for Calendar News about the Run To London. Thanks to Helen Barber and Andy McMenemy for helping out with that.

One man and a camera is a bit slow but the weather didn't help much either - showery (especially when we went out to film me running in the park, near the river). Altogether he was here for about three hours and the news item might last three or four minutes ...

Still, it's all about raising awareness of male only cancers - prostate, testicular and penile. There just isn't enough in the media about these, it all seems to be concentrated on cervical, breast and lung.

Women have screening for the cancers that only effect them but so far no such service exists for men. I've always wondered why and never thought it fair.

Chris hope things have prepared well for this weekends run to London. I'll make an effort to come and see you off. I could ride with you on my bike for a while?

Thanks Ian. Riding with me would be good - if you don't mind riding your bike so slowly !!!
